The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts (AWFVA) and Thomas Ammann Fine Art have announced an agreement with Phaidon Press to publish the complete works of Andy Warhol in six volumes, the first of which will appear in 2001. Research for the catalogue was begun by the Swiss art dealer, Thomas Ammann, in 1977 and, after his death in 1994, it was continued by Georg Frei of the Ammann gallery in Zurich and Neil Printz, based at the AWFVA in New York. The AWFVA and the Ammann gallery will continue to have editorial responsibility for the book and Phaidon will take charge of its design and production. The first volume will cover paintings and sculptures made between 1961 and 1963.
