Huseyin Bahri Alptekin, various works (2003-07)

The artist, writer, lecturer and curator, who died in Istanbul in 2007, is considered to be one of Turkey’s foremost 20th-century artists. Alptekin has worked in a variety of media, exploring the underbelly of globalisation through travel, place, memory and time.

Leonor Antunes, various works (2012-15)

Born in Lisbon and now based in Berlin, Antunes creates sculptures that reflect their environment and refer to works by often lesser-known figures from the history of 20th-century art, architecture, film and design.

The Kuala Lumpur-born, London-based artist is known for a diverse practice that often emphasises spatial experience, situation and encounter. Familiar objects are often arranged incongruously, altered or reproduced and pushed to the point of abstraction.
