The Week in Art

From breaking news and insider insights to exhibitions and events around the world, the team at The Art Newspaper picks apart the art world’s big stories with the help of special guests. An award-winning podcast hosted by Ben Luke.

As a huge exhibition of Dora Maar's work opens at Tate Modern in London, we take a tour of the show with the curator, Emma Lewis. Finally, Maar is escaping the shadow of Pablo Picasso, her lover between 1936 and 1945. We also talk to Jann Haworth, the US-born artist who was a key figure in the 1960s pop art scene in Swinging London and was, with Peter Blake and Michael Cooper, the creator of the cover for The Beatles' Sgt Pepper album—though she is often ignored when that seminal image is discussed. Haworth has a retrospective show at the Pallant House Gallery in Chichester, UK.

The Art Newspaper Podcast is available every Friday on our website and all the usual places where you find podcasts including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iTunes, Soundcloud and TuneIn. This podcast is brought to you in association with Bonhams, auctioneers since 1793 bonhams.com.
